On the back of posting more than $33 million in off-the-plan sales, Forrester Properties has commenced construction of its $42 million The Capitol Apartments in South Brisbane.

Piling and excavation works are now underway for the 10-level development, and is due for completion in late 2012.

The Capitol Apartments will feature 78 one and two bedroom apartments, a restaurant and lounge bar, and resort-style facilities including lap pool, gymnasium, steam room and outdoor leisure area.

The boutique development is situated on Peel Street in the heart of the South Brisbane urban renewal precinct, with the final one bedroom apartments priced from $349,000 and two bedroom apartments from $553,000.

South Brisbane is also home to the Brisbane Convention Centre, Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) and South Bank dining and shopping precinct, and in close proximity to Brisbane’s two major sporting facilities – Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba.

The Capitol Apartments has hit the mark with buyers looking to take advantage of the State Government’s $10,000 Building Boost, available to those who purchased an apartment priced under $600,000 before the end of January 2012.

Buyers have recognised the significant urban renewal and public and private investment that is taking place in South Brisbane, and want to be part of the suburb’s future growth.
