What does ‘care’ mean to you in your role at Calibre?
For me, care is about presence. Whether I’m with a seller who’s stressed or a buyer chasing their first home, I try to slow down and
really listen. I find it important to be mindful and diligent in every interaction I have with my work, especially because a home is something so important to people’s lives.
Can you share a moment where you went above and beyond for a client or teammate?
A lovely client of mine had orered to purchase a unit I was selling; this was going to be the perfect property for her and her dog. The market for this kind of property is quite strong, so we had received multiple oers following the first inspection. Because our process involves presenting signed contracts to our vendors, I explained that I would need her to sign a contract to present her orer to the owner. She let me know she was feeling a little out of her depth signing electronically and put her heart on her sleeve and informed me she had missed out on several properties because she wasn’t able to present offers in the way she needed to.
After leaving the evening inspection, I drove to her place and sat with her, carefully explaining the contract and helping her sign it in person. She was grateful to have been given the opportunity to present an offer.
Her offer was accepted by the owner. It was one of the most rewarding phone calls of my career to be able to tell her that she had just purchased her dream property.
How do you make people feel seen or heard during the buying/selling journey?
I make a careful effort to actually assist buyers and sellers along the process. I understand that while I do this every day, the same can’t be said for my clients. Buying and selling real estate is infrequent for most people, so I take time to explain nuances to the process and market conditions to best educate my clients on both ends of the sale.
COMMUNITY
What does community mean to you—personally or professionally?
Community means belonging. Whether it’s the Brisbane Southside where I grew up, or the neighbourhood I’m working in today, I see my role as helping people feel grounded and supported in their next chapter.
How do you stay connected to the neighbourhoods you work in?
You’ll catch me at the local coffee shop having ‘client catch-ups’ that turn into full-blown chats about the market, life, and everything in between. I don’t just work in these areas—I live, breathe, and back them.
If you could lead a community initiative through Calibre, what would it be?
I’d love to create a quarterly “Homegrown Heroes” campaign—spotlighting local legends doing great things in their street or suburb. Real estate is about more than houses—it’s about the people who bring them to life.
COURAGEOUSLY INNOVATIVE
What’s a risk you’ve taken in your career that really paid off?
Transitioning to sell in an area that I didn’t live in. It’s really easy for Sales Agents to want to sell in areas that they know, however through experience in the market place I have been able to learn more about suburbs I would never have considered personally and realise what makes them a great place to live. Especially looking after homes in the inner west, if there was an area of North Brisbane that could convert a “South Sider”, I think I’ve found it.
How do you keep learning or evolving in your role?
I’m a podcast junkie. Whether it’s leadership, negotiation, or mindset, I’m always absorbing new ideas. I also believe in reverse mentoring—some of the best lessons come from watching how more inexperienced agents think and work.
What’s a new idea or system you’d love to implement at Calibre?
A “Client Journey Map” system that tracks every step of the buying/selling process visually—so clients know where they are and what’s next. Transparency = trust, and I reckon that would take the experience to the next level.
What’s one way you bring care, community, or courage into your everyday work?
I try to show up as my full self—no ego, no fluff. Whether it’s offering honest advice, helping a teammate brainstorm a solution, or saying “yes” to something outside my comfort zone… that’s where the real growth happens.
