The Book That Changed His Perspective
When asked about a book everyone should read, Jason didn’t hesitate to recommend Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. “It’s an incredible true story about Viktor’s life and how we can all find moments of gratitude in unimaginable circumstances. We just need to look,” he shares.
Balancing Work and Life
Jason highlights the flexibility at Calibre Real Estate as one of the best parts of his job. “While we’re all employed to deliver business outcomes, we’re also encouraged to balance that with our busy family commitments. I’m incredibly grateful for that.”
It’s clear Jason values family deeply. His favourite part of the day? Picking his kids up from school. “The conversations we have in the car during the drive home are priceless,” he says.
The Journey to Growth Strategy
Jason’s career in growth strategy and business development has spanned over 30 years. “Business development found me, really,” he reflects. “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, even as a young child. I have a passion for building businesses and have spent decades in business development and sales leadership roles. I guess it’s in my DNA.”
Embracing Technology
One thing that surprised Jason about working at Calibre is how the team leverages technology. “Most small business owners talk about adopting technology to enable efficiencies, but very few embrace what it can truly do for daily operations. Calibre is at the forefront of what’s being done tech-wise in the real estate industry.”

Jason’s all-time favourite quote is by Marcus Aurelius:
“You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realise this, and you will find strength.”
It’s no surprise that Jason embodies this stoic wisdom in his approach to both life and work.
Simple Pleasures
When it comes to making his day better, Jason enjoys the small things: “Standing barefoot on the earth, drinking a hot cup of green tea. Doesn’t get much better than that. Although, a glass of Shiraz from the Barossa Valley or a Japanese single malt whisky, neat, is a very close second. Toss of a coin, really!”
A Message for His Younger Self
If he could give advice to his five-year-old self, Jason would suggest reading Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss over and over again—a fitting reminder of the limitless possibilities life holds.
