RED HILL MARKETS

admin

Picture7The Red Hill Markets are an exciting new farmers, foodie and lifestyle market featuring over 120 of SE QLD & NSW ‘s best farm-direct produce, gourmet foods and arts & crafts stalls!

What prompted its establishment? We all have loads of friends around the Paddington, Bardon, Ashgrove area and it appeared to be an area which would really suit a genuine, fresh, weekend market but did not yet have one. We knew there were great markets within travelling distance, but not one which really belonged to the locals yet. We wanted to provide a wonderful, relaxed, easy and great quality offering every Sunday; A destination were locals could catch up with friends, listen to good music and unwind. Plus pick up loads of goodies for the week ahead!

Your unique point of difference? The quality & choice! We worked hard to ensure we sourced the best quality produce, foods, crafts and provisions from right across South East Queensland and Northern NSW! From hand-picked beans from Duranbah, to gourmet Malaysian Roti, it was important to us that this was a real market with a strong focus on top quality food and crafts. We also wanted to ensure we were supporting local businesses by working directly with the farmer, baker, artisan, etc.

What do you love about the local area? We particularly loved this site because it was so beautiful and lush – with the Ithaca creek on the right and plenty of shady trees. Despite the abandoned TAFE and lack of care, we saw great potential. We spent about 6 weeks making props, equipment and fun items to give it character and really aim to make it pleasant every Sunday. Plus, the people in the area are amazing. They know great food. They know great quality. Everyone is upbeat. Visitors have told us they love the atmosphere! We’ve tried to make it a real “locals” market, with a great selection of tailored stalls. We were very selective on who would be both a great vendor in terms of what they are providing/ selling but also people who would have fun, and enjoy getting to know locals every Sunday. Already at week 6 many know each other’s names.
