September: What’s On
What’s on this month? We’ve got you covered.
5– 26 SEPTEMBER — BRISBANE FESTIVAL
Brisbane Festival is a major international arts festival that explodes onto the scene every September with a thrilling program of music, theatre, dance, opera, circus and the major event Sunsuper Riverfire. Visit www.brisbanefestival.com.au for more information.
5 SEPTEMBER—LANDSCAPING WITH HERBS

12 SEPTEMBER—SATURDAY NIGHT “LIVE”
Brisbane Planetarium’s astronomers take the audience on an exciting ‘live’ fulldome spaceflight. Chart a course through the solar system, past the most distant space probes, beyond familiar constellations, to the outskirts of the Milky Way galaxy. Bookings are strongly recommended, phone 3403 2578 or visit Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha.
18—27 SEPTEMBER—CARNIVAL OF FLOWERS
If you’re looking to head away for the weekend take a drive to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. The Carnival first started in 1949 as a way for Toowoomba to use their reputation as a garden city to boost the post-war economy. The massive celebration includes a screaming side show alley in lower Queens Park, the Heritage Bank live concert series is on for the music lovers and Ergon Energy Flower Food and Wine Festival for the foodies. The Hop on Hop Off Garden Shuttle would have to be the best way to get about and see as many blooms as possible, or you can take a morning or afternoon garden tour where you’ll visit prize winning gardens. www.weekendnotes.com/toowoomba-carnival-of-flowers
